Sheffield centenarian Winnie Lee shared her secret for a long life as she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Winnie says her motto for life is ‘living each day as it comes, don’t think about tomorrow until it’s here, and look after yourself’.
She was joined by her family when she celebrated the special occasion at Norton Lees Care Home where she lives.
Born and raised in Attercliffe, Winnie met and married husband William in 1932, after which the couple moved to Firth Park.
Staff at the home pulled out all the stops for her big day, baking cakes and muffins and decorating her room with cards, flowers and balloons.
Winnie then spent the day with her family – who threw a purple and white -themed party for her at a family home.
Staff at the care home said Winnie is popular with them and fellow residents.
Dawn Moynihan, activities co-ordinator at Norton Lees, said: “Winnie is just so happy and grateful for everything everyone has done for her.”
