HIGH winds are set to return to South Yorkshire early next week – after a cold weekend with frosty nights.
Wintry showers could break out across the region today with sleet or snow on high ground, but the day will mostly be dry with some sun.
Temperatures will not be above 5C, with a ground frost tonight.
Dawn temperatures tomorrow will be around 1C but Sunday will be slightly warmer due to increasing cloud cover and scattered showers.
While there will be no repeat of Thursday’s storms, weathermen are concerned about another deep depression on Monday and Tuesday.
The result could be more gales on Tuesday evening and both days will be windy.
