GIRLS just want to have fun.
That’s why Win Topham joined the Sheffield Harmony Chorus in 1989.
And it’s also why Win, of Rivelin Park Road, Rivelin, is still belting out the tunes today - at the age of 88.
Win, who is the eldest member of the chorus, no longer sings competitively but still attends all rehearsals and is events co-ordinator.
She joined after hearing the chorus at a fashion show.
She said: “I’d always been keen on singing and thought, ‘This is for me.’
“At the audition the musical director had two members of her family in the chorus who could tell whether or not I was able to hold a tune and keep in tune. And luckily, I could.
“Being a member of the chorus has kept me young in mind and spirit. Over the years, we must have learned around 200 songs - which has kept my brain fairly busy.”
