MEMBERS of Sheffield’s largest Women’s Institute group - the Seven Hills WI - are taking part in this week’s Sheffield Food Festival to raise money for a local charity.
The group is running a cream tea stall at the top of Fargate tomorrow and Sunday.
On offer will be homemade scones, jam, cream and strawberries, as well as a choice of hot drinks or lemonade,. Proceeds will be donated to the Sheffield Rape Crisis charity.
Seven Hills WI president Lindsay Garfitt said: “The Sheffield Food Festival is a wonderful event and we are very proud to be taking part.
“Everybody loves a cream tea so we hope lots of people will come along to sample our scones and help us raise money for a hugely deserving local charity.”
Members are also taking part in the judging of the event’s best in show competition which invites entries in categories including picnic and street food, jams and preserves, bread, cupcakes and WI classic, Victoria sponge.
