Who is the woman in curlers?
WHO goes there?
Peeping out on Sheffield city centre from the bare concrete skeleton of Park Hill flats is the face of a mystery former resident with her hair in curlers.
Her portrait is the latest creation of artist Gary Hindley, whose painting of caretaker Grenville Squires is also displayed in the building.
Gary painted the woman's face after seeing her on a black and white film shot at Park Hill in the 1960s - and has no idea who she is.
He is working on a number of further portraits of people from the film, whose identities are also unknown. They will be displayed at the flats in the coming weeks.
The artist is using the concrete structure as an improvised art gallery as it awaits redevelopment.
Urban Splash, which is revamping the flats, is asking anyone who recognises the people in Gary's portraits to come forward. Call 0161 839 2999.
