STAFF from South Yorkshire retail developers Dransfield Properties took to the saddle as they rode 320 miles across the Italian Apennine mountains.

The team’s route saw them leave the Italian capital of Rome before heading across the country then taking a ferry across the Adriatic Sea to their final destination, the Croatian city of Dubrovnik

The annual Tour of Europe charity cycle ride was founded by brothers Mark and Paul Dransfield in 2007 - Mark is managing director of Dransfield Properties in Barnsley while Paul heads the construction firm PDR in Hull.

The 12-strong team are hoping to raise about £25,000, to be shared between Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and the Ryegate Children’s Centre in Sheffield.

Mark said: “The whole team pulled together and everyone is really pleased to have completed the route.”
