What's that blue thing in my loaf?
A MORRISONS customer had gauze for complaint when he opened an own-brand loaf - and found a blue plaster embedded in the bread.
David Grubb recoiled in disgust when he saw the safety dressing running through four rounds of the sunflower and pumpkin seeded loaf.
Mr Grubb, aged 55, said the plaster was melted by heat, but it was clearly not whole - raising worrying questions about contamination of a whole batch.
He returned the 1.15 loaf to Morrisons in Hillsborough and was given his money back and a free replacement.
The firm has promised to investigate.
Mr Grubb, of Fulmere Crescent, Parson Cross, Sheffield, said: "I was revolted when I saw it - my wife or I could have choked and there's the
risk of bacteria like ecoli.
"I'm diabetic and she's got a dodgy ticker. It's about what could have happened.
"It wasn't the whole plaster, just a bit of one. There could be hundreds of particles mixed into the batch, it's only Morrisons that knows that.''
A Morrisons spokesman said they were investigating.
He added: "The quality of all the products we sell is of paramount importance to us."
