IT’S a case of giving a dog a bad name – though Wendy Zaherali’s business has done nothing to deserve one.
Wendy, aged 48, is proprietor of Wendy’s Dog Grooming – and says she is being targeted by lies posted on the internet alleging she has been mistreating animals.
Since the rumours were posted online, her shop window has been broken, her home pelted with eggs and her van has been burnt out.
Wendy, who has salons on Middlewood Road, Chesterfield Road and another in Woodhouse, said: “Someone is carrying out a dirty tricks campaign against us. My shop window was put through, then my van in which we do a free pick-up and drop-off was stolen and found burnt out.
“Then we had eggs thrown at the van and my staff have been threatened. My house has been pelted with eggs and stones have been thrown at my vans. Someone said on the forum that we beat our dogs – that is pure rubbish. We have cameras in the salon so our many happy customers can view on the internet that dogs come to no harm. We have absolutely nothing to hide.”
Wendy’s husband Zaffer has reported the matter to the police who are investigating.
He says he and Wendy are upset anyone could consider either of them capable of mistreating an animal.”
