So here it is, the launch of the new-look Star. It has taken us months of working with our journalists and designers to get us to today.
But we think you will be happy with the outcome.
We have worked with some of the best designers in the world to come up with a new look that makes The Star modern, fresh and bright, evolving the design of your newspaper.
However, we have gone far beyond just giving The Star a new design.
We have poured over our content to see what we can improve, listened to our readers to hear what they like and what they would like more of and added new sections and supplements.
Starting this week we are introducing five new community news pages bringing you news from closer to your neighbourhoods.
We are introducing even more nostalgia with two additional pages on a Tuesday and we have added eight new pages to Monday to showcase the good and happy news photos taken by our photographers and our readers.
Today, there is a revamped Class Act pullout, which is far more about the children and staff in our schools, including showcasing a pupil of the week each week.
We have also added eight pages to today’s Star with our first new homes property pages.
On Wednesday Jo Davison launches her new Style supplement - a chatty, magazine style talking to women about fashion, beauty, problems, baking... you name it.
And our Business Editor Bob Rae has revamped his business pages, too.
During the course of the week you will see more changes to our content. We have added 24 extra pages to The Star over the week.
Tonight, tell me what you think of the changes. We are manning the phone lines from 6pm until 7pm. Ring me on 0114 2521231 to have a chat.
I will be joining my Readers’ Champion Nancy Fielder at Crystal Peaks today, as well, from 12 until 2pm, to chat to our readers. So come along and let us know your thoughts.
