TRAIN operator East Coast is urging travellers from Doncaster to book early for travel to join crowds at this year’s royal wedding.
Prince William and Kate Middleton will marry in Westminster Abbey on Friday April 29 and the big day has been declared a bank holiday – giving many people the opportunity to soak up the carnival atmosphere on the streets of London.
East Coast says it is expecting strong demand for its cheapest advance tickets on the day, which have now gone on sale.
East Coast Commercial Director Peter Williams said: “The celebrations will of course be shown worldwide on television, but there’s no substitute for being there.”
Standard advance returns from Doncaster are available from £21, he said.
