Sheffield is being battered by further gales today as gusts of up to 40mph sweep through the city.
The Met Office said persistent and heavy rain will continue throughout the day and issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds.
A spokesman said: “The public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption to transport and possibly power supplies.”
The warning follows a weekend of extreme weather when gusts of up to 93mph caused disruption and damage throughout Sheffield.
The chaos included a tree falling to the ground on Arnold Avenue in Charnock on Friday night. It completely blocked the road until a group of neighbours moved it to prevent the number 51 bus route from being affected.
There were also numerous reports of wind damage to gardens and difficult driving conditions on major roads.
Forecasters say the strong winds should die down for a time tomorrow before returning on Wednesday and Thursday when further weather warnings have been issued for gales of up to 55mph.
