LAST week we ended our losing run with a win over Berwick and the most pleasing thing was that we got great contributions from Damien Koppe and Joe Haines, who have a had a tough time of it recently.
Damien has responded well to pressure, he’s been putting in a lot of practice laps and shown how much he wants it. He’s put in a lot of effort and fought for his place in the team and we’re all delighted for him. He turned us into a winning team on Thursday and if he can continue that we will pick up some excellent results.
It was also great to see Joe score a paid-maximum, we know that he’s got those kind of scores in him. He looked really good and that’ll give him some confidence. Hopefully now he’s turned the corner.
I took a knock last Friday but I’ve been working with my physio all week and I don’t see any problems with racing all my fixtures. I’ve got a meeting with King’s Lynn this evening and then two Tigers meetings coming up.
Tomorrow we’ve got Plymouth at Owlerton - that’s a tough test, they’re packed with riders who can score points. But it’s important we build on last week’s win.
