We are not alone in tree destruction

Have your say

As a former Sheffielder who keeps up with the news via the Star app, I’ve read with interest about the chopping down of healthy trees.

I’m afraid this isn’t just common to Sheffield.

Here in Sussex, 1,000 trees were chopped down, not because they were unhealthy or damaging pavements but just to straighten out a stretch of motorway.

Some saplings have been planted but nowhere near as many as trees that were destroyed which ruined the area for birds and wildlife.
