CHRISTMAS shoppers in Doncaster have been given a festive parking boost with the opening of a new car park.
The Doncaster Council pay and display car park has opened in the Waterdale area - helping ease parking problems in the run up to Christmas.
Chamber Road car park, next to Doncaster Council’s new civic offices, will offer 42 pay and display spaces, eight spaces for disabled motorists and a number of official bays for approved council vehicles and visitors to the new civic offices next door.
The car park will be open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm and offer users short and long stay parking. Access to the car park is along the new Chamber Road off College Road.
In 2011, the former 850 space southern multi-storey car park, now called the Civic Quarter Car Park, reopened following a £2.5 million refurbishment. Later phases of the Civic and Cultural Quarter project could see the Chamber Road site turned into a multi-storey car park.
