Watch Heaven 17 perform Temptation at secret gig - VIDEO
TEMPTATION stars Heaven 17 are tempted to have another pop at the charts – with modern day synth band La Roux.
They teamed up with flame-haired Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid to perform Temptation on a recent BBC Radio 6 show.
Now the Sheffield legends are planning to record a new mix of the almost 30-year-old classic track with the stars of Bulletproof and In For The Kill.
It would introduce Heaven 17 to a new generation of music fans.
Frontman Glenn Gregory and keyboard wizard Martyn Ware revealed the plan, in an exclusive chat with The Star, before their Real Radio and Sheffield Council intimate greatest hits set at the city's Winter Garden.

More than 250 lucky fans attended the invite only and competition prize-winners concert, which featured Being Boiled, Fascist Groove Thang, Let Me Go, Crushed By The Wheels Of Industry and Temptation.
It promoted their forthcoming world premiere concert at Magna, on Saturday March 6 – when they will perform live and in its entirety, for the first time, their 30-year-old debut album Penthouse and Pavement.
Glenn explained how Temptation was written: "Martyn wanted to do a song about leading us not into temptation – like the Lord's Prayer. I remember thinking he was barmy.
"We had been looking for somebody to do the vocal. We knew vaguely what we wanted, but nobody was getting it right. It was all a bit too soft and too polite. We were getting to our wits' end. Then Carol Kenyan was recommended."
Martyn added: "We wrote the melody for her part but she added a lot to it. She went stratosphoric. We didn't write the part when it goes really high, She kind of invented that as an adlib. Then it became part of the song. Now we have the beautiful Billie Godfrey singing it.
Heaven 17 will perform live and in its entirety, for the first time, their 30-year-old debut album, Penthouse and Pavement, at the Magna, Templeborough, Rotherham, on March 6, 2010, at 8pm.
Martyn will also be one of three celebrity guest DJs entertaining in the VIP room after the show, along with Paul Humphries, of OMD - Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark – and Richard H Kirk, of Cabaret Voltaire.
Tickets, may be subject to a booking fee, are avilable in person, by phone or online, from Magna, Sheffield Road, Templeborough, Rotherham S60 1DX, call 0114-256 5656, or The Star, York Street, Sheffield S1 1PU, call 0114-2767676, ext 3130. Or visit www.h17atmagna.co.uk
