South Yorkshire kids have been warned over scary, sick and sex videos of children's favourites such as Peppa Pig circulating on YouTube.

WARNING: VIDEO CONTAINS SCENES CHILDREN MAY FIND DISTURBING

Children are being tricked into watching sick videos disguised as their favourite cartoons including Doc McStuffins and Thomas the Tank Engine.

Instead of the expected family fare, users can end up watching disturbing scenes of sex and violence.

Hundreds of YouTube videos, including an episode where Peppa Pig has her teeth pulled out to the sound of children screaming and crying have been unearthed.

One channel, called Smile Kids TV, includes a video of a popular Disney Junior cartoon called "Doc McStuffins Drink Sex Medicine Full Episodes".

It shows the lead character being injected with needles, covered in blood and throwing stones at neighbour's homes.

There are also various Peppa Pig cartoons showing Peppa bloodied and characters assaulting each other with axes circulating online and others have sexual undertones.

One, titled "Toys and Funny Kids Surprise Eggs" contains videos including "BABY HULK BITES BABY ELSA", "NAKED HULK LOSES HIS PANTS" and "SPIDERBABY CUTS ELSA'S DRESS".

In one scene a cartoon modelled on Frozen's Elsa shows the character naked in a bathtub.

There are several YouTube spoofs of kids cartoons which are for adults eyes only.

Some are very clear in titling their clips this way, writing "NOT FOR CHILDREN" throughout.

But there are several adult channels masquerading as tots' TV.

Ones to avoid are:

TOYS 4 FUN!

LORD BAD BABY

SMILE KIDS TV

TOYS AND FUNNY KIDS SUPRISE EGGS

SUPERHERO-SPIDERMAN-FROZEN

YouTube has advised parents to use its special YouTube Kids' app to ensure their children aren't watching inappropriate content.

Parents can also report unsuitable videos by clicking on the "More" button underneath videos.

Videos should be removed within 24 hours of flagging, YouTube said.
