PEDESTRIANS and motorists are being urged to take more care following a string of fatal collisions in Derbyshire in recent months.

A pedestrian was killed on High Lane, Ridgeway, on November 26 and another on the A61 at Shirland on Jan 10.

Chief Inspector Steve Wilson, of Derbyshire’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “Pedestrians should make sure they wear reflective clothing when walking at night and in bad weather.

“Take particular care when crossing roads, no matter how busy or rural they are.”
