ASHES to Ashes star Dean Andrews will lead Yorkshire against Lancashire in the Great Yorkshire Run, which takes place in Sheffield on September 2.
The Rotherham-born actor, who played DS Ray Carling in the hit TV series, will captain Yorkshire as part of the event’s War of the Roses challenge, which will see runners take on entrants from Lancashire.
The team with the fastest average finishing time of all runners who complete the course in less than 70 minutes will be crowned champions.
A regular in the 10K race, Dean will be running for the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research charity.
Dean said: “The race is a great day to be part of with thousands of people turning out for a host of charities. I’m always glad to be involved.”
Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity will be the regional charity for the event.
