POLICE have launched a fresh appeal to track down a third man believed to be involved in a violent armed robbery at a bookies last year.
On Friday Darren Parfitt was jailed for 17 years for the armed raid at Ladbrokes and his younger brother, Paul, also from Thorne, admitted being the getaway driver in a post office raid at Owston Ferry in Thorne.
But detectives are still hunting a third man, wearing a balaclava and a dark jacket, who may be able to help police with their enquiries into those robberies and another at Hensall PO near Selby.
Det Sgt Maggie Hawksworth, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “We are really pleased we were able to locate and arrest these two men and stop them from committing further crimes.
“This sends a clear message that this kind of crime will not be tolerated and people will be caught. We will continue to support Humberside and North Yorkshire Police to assist in locating and identifying the third man involved.”
