A SHEFFIELD care home is calling on members of the community to put their best foot forward.

Broomcroft House Nursing and Residential Home is appealing to residents of Ecclesall to sign up for a scheme designed to incorporate more walking into their everyday lives.

Staff and residents at Broomcroft are taking part in Bupa’s Walk to a Well World, which promotes physical and mental wellbeing through the gentle exercise.

It has organised a special Memory Walk with the help of the Alzheimer’s Society, which takes place on Monday.

Helen Close, manager at Broomcroft House, said: “We can all do our bit to promote healthy living, whether that’s building a couple more steps into everyday routines or making sure you walk further than you usually do. It’s all about doing that extra bit each day. By teaming up with the Alzheimer’s Society, everyone can also help raise awareness and money for a worthy cause.”
