South Yorkshire walkers will be helping to bite back at hunger in one of the region’s longest-running charity events.
The 17-mile Sheffield Night Hike has been held for over 45 years.
The dusk-till-dawn walk will take place on Saturday, July 6.
It starts from St Luke’s Church in Lodge Moor at 8.30pm following a route out to Hathersage in the Peak District.
The money raised will go towards Christian Aid.
Last year’s Night Hike raised £2000.
Alex Jones, regional coordinator for Christian Aid in Yorkshire, said: “This is one of South Yorkshire’s treasures. Over its lifespan thousands of people have made a difference to the lives of some of the poorest people in the world through the Night Hike.
“Events like this help poor communities bite back at hunger, so they can thrive and not just survive.”
