A TEAM of walkers from a Doncaster club will be getting footsore on Saturday to provide a boost for two cancer sufferers.
Ian Johnson, relief steward at the Rossington Labour Club, is leading staff and supporters on a sponsored walk from the club to the Mansion House in Doncaster town centre.
They want to raise money for Luke Woodward, aged 24, a pot washer and barman, who was taken ill last year with a cancer affecting his left arm, for which he is receiving radio and chemo therapy.
The other recipient of their generosity is Brenda Shaw, whose husband is currently being treated for bowel cancer.
“They both need help with the costs of getting to hospital to receive treatment, especially Luke who has some appointments in Birmingham,” said Ian.
