VOLUNTEER guided walk leaders in Sheffield strolled into a special reception staged by Lord Mayor Sylvia Dunkley.

The reception was held in recognition of the time people gave to provide free guided walks around the city, as part of Walk Sheffield earlier this year.

Walk Sheffield, in May, included 38 different walking routes and was attended by over 500 people.

Coun Dunkley said: “Walk Sheffield goes from strength to strength thanks to the support of so many organisations right across the city.

“Thanks go to everyone who has been involved in this project and I hope even more people take part next May.”

The walking events were organised by Sheffield Walking Forum - a partnership between NHS Sheffield, Sheffield Council and other organisations.
