Environmental volunteers have transformed wasteland on a Sheffield estate to bring spring colour to residents’ lives.
Charity BTCV has been working with Arches Housing to improve communal areas on the Wensley Estate at Page Hall.
Volunteers cleaned up the area, pruned overgrown shrubs and tidied flowerbeds.
BTCV works across South Yorkshire and beyond on behalf of social landlords, nursing homes, councils, private landowners and schools.Work can include community clean ups or landscaping, footpath construction, dry stone walling or nature garden design at local schools.
John Thompson of BTCV said: “The volunteers benefit too because they learn new skills, gain confidence, improve their health and make a positive difference to the city in which they live.”
