THE British Heart Foundation is looking for volunteers in Sheffield to join its events committee and help make 2012 its most successful year yet.

The charity has a busy year of fundraising planned and has vacancies for the volunteer roles of deputy chair, deputy treasurer and deputy secretary for its Sheffield major events committee.

One of the biggest events is on Saturday, February 25, when hundreds of people will be dressing in red and running up The University of Sheffield’s 20-storey Arts Tower as part of the Take the Stairs Challenge.

Stuart Heslington, committee chairman, said: “Due to an expanded programme of fundraising events this year, we are looking for committed volunteers.”

Other events include a golf day and hog roast in May, a Masquerade Ball in November and the popular Santa Jog in December.
