I wholeheartedly agree with the points raised by James Fennar, (June 29), concerning the access from Arundel Gate to Flat Street.
The steps, as James points out, are in such a shambolic state of repair, that it is surprising that there is no alternative access, such as a ramp for people with prams/pushchairs or disabled people.
Shouldn’t this be a legal requirement? If the law requires shops and offices to provide a ramp, then why doesn’t the same rule apply to vital access points in the city?
