The firm which has paid for a new £610,000 Multi User Games Area close to the West Moor business park at Armthorpe hopes it will help encourage more children to be sporty in the aftermath of the Olympics.

Representatives from Gazeley and the local community gathered at a ribbon cutting for the 22,000 sq ft MUGA, off Wickett Hern Road, which includes a skateboard park, BMX track, toddlers’ play area, over fives’ playground, as well as an enclosed areas for basketball and football matches.

Bruce Topley, senior development director, said: “It is especially important in the aftermath of recent Olympic successes when we are all encouraging more sporting activity for our future generations.”
