A weather warning remains in place across Sheffield on Wednesday as the severe cold weather continues.
The Met Office issued a yellow ‘beware’ warning for snow in South Yorkshire, which hit the city at around 9pm yesterday and continued throughout today.
Forecasters said an area of snow will extend northeastwards from parts of Wales across the Midlands and into parts of northern England persisting into Wednesday.
A Met Office spokesman said: “The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to transport.”
On Wednesday temperatures will remain low at just one degree. Flurries of sleet and snow are likely to become increasingly light and short lived, leaving much of the day dry with bright spells.
