Staff from Morrisons in South Yorkshire have bagged a starring role in the supermarket’s new Christmas marketing campaign.
Nicola Hall and Paddy Shaw are two of a number of employees across the country with a spotlight shining on them this festive season, in three Christmas adverts, which launched on prime-time TV at the weekend.
21-year-old Nicola, who works in the wine department at Morrisons Worksop store, is shown advising customers on festive food and wine pairings.
“My role in the advert very much reflects what I do in store, working to make our customers’ Christmas as magical as it can be,” said Nicola, of Worksop.
“I love to advise customers on festive food and wine pairings; giving people that extra knowledge means they can really go the extra mile with their choices.”
Paddy, of Balby in Doncaster, works on the butcher’s counter at Morrisons Doncaster, and is shown in another 30 second advert, preparing the Christmas lamb.
“We filmed the adverts over the course of a weekend and we were treated like celebrities - it was a great experience,” said Paddy, aged 22.
“I worked with lots of other Morrisons employees from around the UK and everybody was so nice and having such a good time. It really got us all into the festive spirit!”
The Christmas campaign includes in-store activity, as well as TV and radio advertising, all featuring the hashtag #makeitmagical.
Paddy added: “Working at Morrisons in the run-up to Christmas is hectic but worth it. We’re in the fortunate position of being able to help people create a really vital part of their Christmas and we work hard to make sure everything is as perfect as it can be.”
