Sheffield’s answer to the Chelsea Flower Show is on its way – aiming to inspire a new generation of green-fingered gardening enthusiasts.
The Garden Up event is happening at the Botanical Gardens next June, showcasing talents from the worlds of horticulture, architecture, landscape and design.
Thousands of people from across the region are expected to attend the show to view exhibits, sales stands and show gardens.
Universities, schools, community groups, businesses, artists and craftspeople are all getting involved.
Sheffield-based horticulturist Richard Nicolle, who has worked for the prestigious Hampton Court Flower Show, said: “Garden Up is a truly cutting-edge event that provides a platform for showcasing innovation and design and will offer the public wonderful new ideas and products.”
The displays will take a full week to install at the Botanical Gardens ahead of the event itself over the weekend of June 7 and 8 next year.
