A Sheffield Council building was evacuated earlier today following reports a bomb has been placed inside.
Howden House on Union Street in Sheffield city centre was evacuated shortly before noon today.
It has now been established that the threat was a hoax and the building is now reopen after police gave the all-clear.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “At 11.45am this morning (February 16) police were notified that a local authority building on Union Street in central Sheffield was in the process of being evacuated after a report that a bomb had been placed in the building.”
Howden House is open to the public for inquiries about council matters such as housing, schools and parking badges, while local authority staff work on the upper levels.
