Police have sealed off an area close to the Wicker Arches after a suspected stabbing occurred today.
A police cordon has been erected on the pavement between Derek Dooley Way and Wicker Arches, which is currently being manned by officers.
People at the scene said a man had been stabbed and blood spatters are visible on the pavement, behind the police tape.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “We received a call from the ambulance service at 2.15pm today to assist with an incident on the Wicker.
“A male sustained injuries to his leg and has been taken to Northern General Hospital.
“Officers are still investigating circumstances of the incident. The cordon remains in place.”
