The Liberal Democrat leader and Deputy Prime Minister, who is defending Sheffield Hallam against a Labour challenge, arrived at the polling station on Hall Park Hill with wife Miriam González Durántez.

Sheffield Hallam is set to be one of the most closely-watched constituencies across the whole country tonight because of Mr Clegg’s head to head battle with Oliver Coppard.

Polls have placed Labour ahead, while Mr Clegg defends a majority of more than 15,000 from 2010.
