Kizzy the dog was in a shocking condition when she came to the RSPCA’s Sheffield Branch – and now she needs a loving home.
The five-year-old Staffy cross was painfully thin and covered in wounds when she arrived and staff have worked hard to rehabilitate her.
Acting animal care manager Tammy Wilson said: “Kizzy came to our centre in a truly shocking condition that took our staff’s breath away.
“She was so thin and the first thing we had to concentrate on was getting her back to a correct weight for her size and healing her wounds. Then building back up her confidence and love of life.”
Kizzy now loves attention and affection but needs owners with experience in managing and working with dogs with some training needs.
She is on steroids for her skin condition, which has vastly improved – and the centre can offer financial support for her continuing treatment.
She may also need to continue with regular baths depending on her skin condition as she settles down in a home environment.
The centre’s next event is an Easter fair on Saturday, March 28.
