A 21-year-old has described how his girlfriend was in the house when a car smashed through the front wall of his garden and burst into flames in Branton.
Michael Burton said the rockery in front of the house probably stopped the vehicle smashing into the house itself and setting the building on fire with his girlfriend inside.
Mr Burton said his parents, who own the detached house, are on holiday in Tenerife.
Two people have died and another is fighting for their life after the horror crash.
A police search has now been launched to find the remaining two men who fled the burning wreckage after the smash in Poppyfields Way, Branton that happened yesterday (Tuesday August 26) at 12.50pm.
A police spokesman said: “Police believe that the two other occupants of the car who remain unaccounted for are also seriously injured.”
All five were travelling in the The Renault Megane that demolished the front garden of the detached house in the Doncaster village.
