Alfie is a red-headed charmer who - like his movie namesake - needs to find a forever home to settle down in.

The two-year-old, tan-coloured crossbreed has a bib of white and needs to partner up with an owner to show them how fun life can be.

RSPCA Sheffield Branch acting animal care manager Tammy Wilson said: “Alfie just loves to please people and fills everyone with happiness with his love of life and bouncy ways.

“He’s a very cute looking dog, with a great personality and his ears flap about in an adorable way when he is running along. He is so adorable he just melts hearts.”

Alfie would be more suited to a gentle, patient owner who can build up his confidence as at times he is a little unsure of new things.

Other than a very small wound at the tip of his tail - part of his sad past - he is in good health.

Tammy said: “Alfie has been assessed as being compatible with another canine companion as long as they are robust and tolerant and subject to a ‘meet and greet’ here at our centre. His compatibility with cats can be assessed if required.”
