This is the first picture of popular Sheffield teenager Josh Tyler who died after his moped was struck by a car on Friday night.
Josh, a student at Aston Academy, in Rotherham, was riding his red Peugeot Speedfighter moped at around 10.20pm on Friday night when he was involved in a collision with blue Citroen C3 on Mansfield Road near the junction with Florence Avenue in Swallownest.
Today his devastated mum Julie Henley Smith, posted a tribute to him on Facebook.
It said: “You’ve touched and left leaving so many broken hearts my baby boy.
“Love you so so dearly, I really really hope you know how special and how much you are really loved and very much missed my baby and that this nightmare was all just a bad dream.
“Kisses to you my gorgeous boy, love you billions.”
Josh’s sister Jodie also posted an emotional tribute.
She said: “My amazing beautiful gorgeous little brother. You never failed to make us laugh with your comedian jokes and your sarky comments.
“You are one in a million no one could ever take that away or replace what we had.
She said Josh would be laughing at them for being in floods of tears, adding: ”I love you kiddo millions and you will always be with me.”
Over the weekend dozens of floral tributes were laid at the scene of the crash by sobbing youngsters and flowers have also been left outside Aston Academy.
One man, who paid tribute to Josh, said he “didn’t have a bad bone in his body” while another said: “He was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
Another mourner said that Josh had been due to take his GCSEs later this year.
One floral tribute read: ‘RIP Big Josh T, you was one in a million, school is going to be hard without my brother beside me.’
Another tribute said: ‘RIP Josh, heaven has another angel, but he has been taken too early’.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The 16-year-old boy who sustained fatal injuries in a collision in Swallownest on Friday night has now been named.
“Joshua Tyler, from Sheffield, was riding a red Peugeot Speedfighter moped along Mansfield Road, Swallownest, thought to be travelling away from Swallownest centre.
“At around 10.20pm, the moped and a blue Citroen C3 were in collision near to the junction with Florence Avenue.
“Joshua sustained fatal injuries.”
“Officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision.”
No arrests have been made.
It is thought that the moped was travelling along Mansfield Road heading away from Swallownest centre.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision.
