Lottery fever has grabbed Doncaster as residents bid to win one of the biggest jackpots ever.
The prize for the Euromillions draw tonight is over £140 million and shopkeepers all across the borough have seen a surge in ticket sales.
Richard Huby, president of the National Federation of Retail Newsagents’ Doncaster branch, said there had been a rise in sales of between 30 and 40 per cent in the last two weeks since the potential jackpot passed £100 million. There had been a big rise in syndicates particularly, he added.
He said: “By mid-afternoon it will become fever-pitch.”
