Stephen Rich, an event organiser, said: “It was incredible. We estimate 10,000 people came along.

“John Burkhill opened it and said he never felt so humbled. It took him hours to get away because people wanted photographs.”

Visitor grandma Carol Robinson, of Norfolk Park, said: “It has been brilliant. There was plenty to do.

“The kids loved it.”

The Greenhill Park festival is organised by Greenhill and Bradway TARA and the Friends of Greenhill Park.
