Scores of bus passengers were left stranded after snow caused a huge bus backlog in Conisbrough.
Five service buses became stuck in icy and snowy conditions in Church Street in the centre of the town this afternoon, causing headaches for passengers and other road users.
Two Stagecoach services were at the front of the queue with other vehicles becoming clogged behind. It is thought the first bus had become stuck in snow on the steep hill which is a notorious winter motoring hotspot for drivers.
Some passengers remained on the buses while others hopped off while the problem was cleared.
Other motorists were diverted away from the scene of the chaos at around 1pm today.
