A trailer marking the return of Open All Hours to television screens has been released by the BBC.
The 11-second teaser ahead of the show’s return on Boxing Day has already been viewed nearly 30,000 times on YouTube.
The film shows a milk float trundling along Balby’s Lister Avenue before an unseen character turns a sign in the shop door to reveal Arkwright’s cluttered corner store is open for business once more, with the original theme tune playing over the action.
The new show, Still Open All Hours, sees Granville, portrayed by Sir David Jason as now in charge of the shop following the death of his miserly uncle Arkwright, played by the late Ronnie Barker.
He runs it with his son Leroy, played by Emmerdale’s James Baxter, the result of a one-night stand 25 years previously.
