Visitors to Warmsworth Community Centre certainly didn’t get the pip at the village’s annual Apple Day.
Young and old alike flocked to the centre in Low Road West, despite the miserable weather to enjoy a host of tasty treats as well as fun and games.
Freshly squeezed apple juice was on offer, thanks to a traditional apple press and visitors could also tuck into more than twenty different varieties of apples, provided by Mill Lane and Waverley Primary Schools.
There was also apple bobbing, arts and crafts demonstrations for both children and adults as well as cake stalls, cake making demonstrations and tea and coffee.
Organiser Diane Somers said: “This is our fourth apple day and we’ve had a really good turnout despite the weather. I am absolutely crazy about apples and we have had a fantastic response from people in the community.
“The cakes look marvellous and the apple press has got through hundreds of apples.”
