FIVE men had to be rescued from a car which left a road in the early hours of Sunday.

The fire brigade, police and ambulance service were all in attendance, but Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was called due to difficulties caused by the terrain off Long Hill Road near Fernilee.

Together with volunteers from the Kinder Team they assisted paramedics in recovering two injured casualties by stretcher to an ambulance on Long Hill Road.

They were transferred to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport for further treatment.

Neil Carruthers, Buxton team leader, said “All the emergency crews worked very well together to recover the vehicle occupants.”
