Victim's father collars flasher

A FLASHER was arrested by his victim's furious father as he got off a train in South Yorkshire.

Daniel Madner exposed himself in the carriage to a 22-year-old nurse, but he didn't know her father was a police officer.

She suffered a journey from hell when he sat next to her on the train from York to Doncaster, a court heard.

Having drunk eight pints of lager, six double vodkas and six shots, he made sexual comments and, egged on by his mates, said he was going to strip off.

Carl Fitch, prosecuting, said Madner took off his shirt, then unbuttoned his jeans and pulled his boxer shorts down.

He showed his bare bottom to the nurse and her two friends and then exposed himself close to her face, said Mr Fitch.

Madner also made a lewd comment to her, but did not realise she had rung her father, who is a South Yorkshire police officer.

He was waiting at Doncaster station with railway police.

Madner, aged 29, tried to play down his behaviour. But when he appeared before Doncaster Crown Court and pleaded guilty to a charge of exposure, his barrister Richard Sheldon said he was "thoroughly ashamed".

Madner, of Grove Vale, Wheatley Hills, has a partner who is expecting their first child in November. His job with Action For Employment would have been at risk if he was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.

Mr Sheldon said: "It was outrageous behaviour and very unpleasant for those watching. It was fun that got out of hand and that was through drink.

"His partner, who is the picture of sobriety and respectability, is fully aware of what occurred.

"There is no suggestion of predatory behaviour on his part and the risk of repetition is minimal.

"He has been publicly vilified for what he has done already. It couldn't have come at a worse time but he has brought it on himself."

Judge Jacqueline Davies said it was sad to see a man with obligations and responsibilities behaving in the way he did.

Ordering him to pay compensation of 500 to the three women, the judge said: "I have no doubt you ruined a day out for these girls because of your outrageously disgusting behaviour."

To keep him in work, she imposed a six-month community order with an electronic tag curfew from 7.30pm-6am for 21 days. He was also ordered to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work.
