Tools left in a house under renovation in Sheffield were stolen during a break-in.

South Yorkshire Police said the property in Birley Moor Crescent, Birley, was broken into over the weekend.

Crooks have also targeted a number of vans across Sheffield, with three broken into in Basegreen Avenue, Basegreen.

Others were broken into in Hollybank Drive, Intake and Crossland Drive, Gleadless Townend.

Inspector Jason Booth said: “I know it can be difficult but where possible try to remove items of value from works vans.”

Officers in Sheffield are also investigating the burglary of a house in Bretton Grove, Frecheville, over the weekend.
