A DISABLED Doncaster woman reckons she could be heading for Buckingham Palace in a van to pick up her MBE.

Nikki Webber, aged 30, from Bircotes, was seriously injured crossing the road in Bawtry as a 10-year-old and has given talks on road safety since she was 13 years old. She has been awarded the MBE for services to road safety.

She said: “I have had lots of calls about my MBE, but the reaction of the people in the village has been hilarious. They have been doing a curtsey when they see me! My boyfriend has said he wants to take me to Buckingham Palace in a van when I collect the award.”

Wheelchair bound Vikki was left in a coma after she was injured.
