Use vote wisely

Have your say

As we come towards the local elections I hope everyone uses their votes wisely. Who do we vote for? A party that tells us what they stand for? Lib Dems, Greens etc. Or a party which expects us to vote blindly for them without telling us what they stand for and what they will do if they gain control of the council? Labour. Think about it.

Sat behind lions

I WENT to Burngreave School and left in 1945. Our headmistress was Miss Yeats and she helped to organise the first Sheffield School Choir. A selection of us would practise along with other schools in Attercliffe. In 1944 or 1945 we finally sang at the City Hall.

Miss Yeats also took a few of us on occasional Friday evenings to listen to the Halle Orchestra, which was conducted by Sir John Barbirolli.

We sat behind the percussion, to the right of the lions.

Manhole cover

your article about potholes reminds me of a sloping path opposite the White Hart, Saint Philip’s Road. A manhole cover was Tarmaced over and still is four years on.
