Free food for the town’s needy is on offer every Thursday at Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen at the 5 Rivers Community Centre in Catherine Street.
This is a voluntary initiative set up by the youths of Doncaster to build and make a stronger community by fighting hunger today.
The facility has been running for approximately three months and the numbers attending are increasing. Currently around 80-100 homeless, hungry and needy people benefit from a hot meal, dessert, fresh fruit and drinks.
All dishes served are vegetarian and include both Asian and western cuisine, ranging from vegetable curries, onion bhajis, pasta, chips and beans.
The kichen isn open between 6.30-7.30pm.
