A teenage boy is in hospital with serious head injuries after a car ‘lost control’ and hit a stone wall.

The 17-year-old passenger in a silver BMW 316 was trapped in the vehicle on High Street, Mosborough, at 2.40am today.

Fire crews attended to free the teenager. He was taken to Northern General Hospital where he remains, though his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A police spokesman said: “A silver BMW was travelling towards Eckington when the driver appears to have lost control of the vehicle approaching a left-hand bend at the junction with Duke Street.

“The BMW has then crossed High Street and hit a stone wall.”

The 19-year-old male driver had minor neck and back injuries.

Call 101 with information.
