Sheffield Council cabinet member Jack Scott has stood down from his environment role, it has been confirmed today.
Town Hall Labour leaders have released a statement saying he stood down following aqn ‘issue’ with a long-running dispute over strikes at household waste recycling centres in the city.
It added: “As the details of the issue are currently subject to further investigations no further details can be disclosed at this stage.”
Broomhill councillor, Jayne Dunn, has now been appointed as the new cabinet member for environment, recycling and Streetscene.
Responsibilities of the role include the running of the Streets Ahead project which is transforming the city’s highway network, waste management services, road safety and the environment.
She said: “It is a privilege to be asked to take on this role and I am committed to making sure that we address the problems with Sheffield’s roads and make sure the Streets Ahead programme makes the difference across the city.”
